You're young and ambitious, yet your guidance counsellor advises you not to try to get into a university. What do you do in this situation? You'll be assigned another counsellor! Ken Christopher had been working as a draughtsman for four years after graduating from high school and was dissatisfied with his position when an academic advisor advised him to stick with it. However, a respected YMCA administrator gave him a different piece of advice: he should get a degree in higher education. It marked a watershed moment. Ken went on to become an officer in the Canadian Army, received a master's degree, taught at two universities, and worked as a vice president of a development firm for nine years before retiring. The couple now has two boys named Robert and Douglas and is the CEO of a huge worldwide corporation. Mary Elizabeth worked as a teacher for 20 years before marrying him. They recently travelled to Maui with their entire family, including their grandchildren. "As Ken explains, "we are growing a significant corporation globally while concentrating our efforts primarily in Canada and the United States." "We are able to do so because of the business and the support we have received.

 When Ron Camp, Babs' brother, presented the Camps with a marketing strategy, he had just been voted Georgia Coach of the Year, and the Camps were excited.

 He enjoyed what he was doing, but he was well aware that, as a teacher and coach, he was finding it difficult to provide for his wife and two young girls.

Ron wasn't overjoyed at first, but having grown up in public housing projects without a father to provide financial support and no mother to supervise his children, he was willing to go to any length to allow Babs to stay at home with his daughters.

Ron felt comfortable conversing with people who were wearing football helmets, but conversing with anyone else was a difficult task for him. 

Although he had to overcome many obstacles early on, he was confident that if others could create this firm, he could as well!

Ron died as a result of a sudden heart attack on October 4, 1993, while jogging with his daughter Lisa in the park. 

He was in excellent physical condition, and he made exercise a regular part of his daily routine. His untimely demise at the age of 52 came as a complete surprise to everyone who knew him. 

Babs was compelled to call on every ounce of divine and inner strength she could muster up. God, as well as her friends and business "family," who travelled from all over the country to grieve Ron's loss and to support and encourage Babs, did not let her down. 

Ron was a terrific husband and father, as well as an outstanding leader in their business. He will be profoundly missed, but his family and a large number of friends will remember him with much love and dedication.

A few years earlier, while still in college, Babs had been so terrified of public speaking that she had chosen the only two majors and minors that did not require her to take a public speaking course. 

While she and Ron were establishing their company, Ron was the one who did the majority of the speaking. 

It has been difficult for Babs to speak on stage by herself, but when Bill Britt informed her that she had a wonderful message to share with people about how Ron had provided for her, the challenge became more rewarding and less difficult for her to face.

Babs's outstanding leadership has enabled the Camp organisation to continue to develop and prosper over the years.

As Babs puts it, "Ron's dreams will live on through his family, through his grandchildren, and through the outstanding, competent leaders he has left behind him."

Babs' life took on yet another new chapter on January 17, 2004, when she tied the knot with Stan Chambers. 

Stan had been introduced to her by Ray and Carroll Youngblood, who were her business acquaintances. 

After ten years of running her firm on her own, Babs is delighted to have found a business partner who shares her enthusiasm for the industry.
