Abdul Jalil & Zaimah - Diamond - Malaysia

We met our sponsor Md Yatim Md Tap at a friend’s house in Penang in September 1998. He asked permission to come to the house to explain the AMWAY Business Opportunity ™. Although we did not know him very well, we thought well and accepted his request. He is so consistent and has come to our house 10 times! Finally, we signed up
as a member of AMWAY on the basis of pity upon seeing his earnestness. Unexpectedly, we were awarded a cheap sustenance from this business.

We would like to thank our parents, Haji Hassan and Hajjah Siti Mariam for their understanding, blessing and unwavering support as we built this business. Our life back then was very comfortable. Our income as Managers and Directors in multinational companies is sufficient. However, deep down, there are worries about the economic crisis that hit in the late 90s. So, I thought, “What’s wrong with trying. Who knows there may be sustenance. If I fail, I don't lose anything but if I succeed, the profit is multiplied. ” So, I made an appointment with a top sponsor to find out more about the AMWAY Sales & Marketing Plan.

We decided to venture into this business after being excited to see the presentation of a highly motivated Sales & Marketing Plan by our top sponsors Intan Abdullah & Mariam Direct Distributors. In 1998, we started a business with products worth RM300.00 for our own use and also for demonstration purposes. Our first month bonus is at 3% which is RM33.67 but we are confident that an increase will definitely happen if we redouble our efforts. We continue to show the Sales & Marketing Plan and make product demonstrations every day without feeling bored. As a result, our business is growing with an increasing number of group members and customers. Eight months after joining AMWAY, we managed to reach the Silver Holder level.

Attending weekly meetings and seminars organized by top sponsors is a must. No matter how far or busy, we will arrive on time. Even on weekends and public holidays, we would leave the house as early as 8.30am and return at night. Our cars are full of products, starter kits and demonstration tools and we do up to 16 activities a day. There are no tired words in our dictionary of life because for us this AMWAY business is a career, nojust for fun.

Our busy schedule sometimes leaves us with no time to spend with our four sons who are 4, 6, 9 and 11 years old respectively. Still, we explained to them that what we were doing was for the sake of their future. Thankfully, they understand and this makes us even more motivated to keep working even harder. It turns out that our sacrifices have paid off. We are able to finance their school fees and studies up to tertiary education without the help of scholarships or loans.

The challenges are indeed many, especially from prospects who do not understand the potential of this business. We were once chased away, greeted but the gates were locked and not allowed in despite having made an appointment, even ridiculed. All of that we consider as a fuel for the spirit to continue to fight to achieve the goal. The ups and downs and challenges in business are natural and we make it a stepping stone to climb to a higher level. We qualified as a Founding Emerald Direct Distributor in August 2008 and Diamonds in February 2012.

Let us not be disappointed if we receive a rejection from a prospect. Maybe the time hasn't come yet. Who knows, maybe their hearts will be open to join this business in the future. In any case, we did not lose anything. On the other hand, they are the ones who lose because they reject the opportunity before they understand it, like throwing away a seed before planting it, cutting down a tree before enjoying the results.

Through AMWAY Business, we gain many friends and acquaintances throughout Malaysia. They are positive minded and motivate us to excel. In addition, we had the opportunity to visit interesting places around the world including Rome, Dubai, South Africa, and even follow the Alaska Cruise and even Paris for an exclusive Leadership Seminar. We look forward to going to Sydney next December and to the Diamond Invitation in Istanbul next year.

We also greatly appreciate the robustness of the financial guarantees offered. The proof is in 2009, we qualified for the Leadership Seminar in Los Angeles but we chose to perform the hajj in Mecca. Upon returning from Mecca two months later, we found that incentives and bonuses from the business had been put into our bank account.
