Story
The idea of being the captain of my own ship appealed to me.
"Peter Matz was interested in purchasing an engineering firm. He worked as a nuclear engineer, directing 350 scientific people, and his ultimate goal was to leave his position. We launched this business in order for me to be able to earn enough money to purchase the engineering firm. Barbara, a certified nurse, was in charge of raising their five biological children as well as five adopted children. When our company began to grow, Peter continued to work from home. According to Peter, "I had assumed that obtaining a decent education and finding employment with a huge corporation was the best route to take," but he immediately discovered that he did not want to work for anybody else. I aspired to be the captain of my own vessel. It's a substantial vessel. The Matz organisation now has a global presence. Peter and Barbara are now actively involved in the support of Easter Seals, as well as the sponsorship of several impoverished children in various places across the world. They also have 12 grandchildren of their own.
