Amway Global is thrilled to announce that Jamaica will have the Amway Global business opportunity starting September 1, 2010. Expanding North America's flagship market with this Caribbean island's authorization is intriguing. Jamaica will be an extension of the current Miscellaneous Atlantic and Caribbean (M.A.C.) island markets approved under the U.S. Sales and Marketing Plan.
Note: there will be no office, staff or warehouse in Jamaica. Therefore, the product order will be the same as the U.S., with coreline products supplied from Georgia's Southeast Service Center (SESC) and available catalogue merchandise supplied from Spaulding Product Service Center (SPSC) in Ada, Michigan. For all goods orders with the end destination being Jamaica, the ordering IBO is the "record importer" and it is his/her obligation (via a freight forwarder or broker) to complete the proper customs paperwork and, where applicable, pay duties when importing products into Jamaica. The name and U.S. address of the designated freight forwarder or broker must be submitted by the ordering IBO to Amway, where the freight forwarder or broker has agreed to operate as "record importer," Freight forwarding is exempt from U.S. taxation.
Most Amway goods (including ARTISTRY® skin care and cosmetics, personal care and home care) are planned to be available for order starting September 1, 2010. However, some NUTRILITE® vitamins and mineral supplements needing Jamaica product registration may not be available until official registration and government permission is acquired. Product registration for top-selling NUTRILITE supplements is ongoing with optimism they will be approved and available for order in September.
The sponsoring process for new IBOs will be the same as the U.S., either online at , by phone at 800-253-6500, or by fax at 800-253-4673 toll-free (or by fax at 616-787-755). You can also mail new IBOs at: Amway Global Customer Support, (58C-2A), 7575 Fulton Street East, Ada, MI 49335-0001. From 1 September 2010, prospective IBOs resident in Jamaica will be able to get a 30-day temporary IBO number pending receipt by Amway Global of a signed registration form. (Like the rest of the M.A.C. region, client registration is not yet available).
Jamaica IBOs will have the same opportunities and duties as North American IBOs, as set forth in IBO Contract, Compensation Plan, Growth Incentive Program (GI) and Fast Track. Bonus payments will be determined as in the U.S. Sales and Marketing Plan. Jamaican IBOs may receive bonus checks by mail or direct deposit into a designated U.S. bank account.
