Nutrilite is a mineral, vitamin and nutritional supplement brand founded by Carl F. Rehnborg in 1934. Access Business Group, a subsidiary of Alticor whose goods are supplied via Amway globally, currently manufactures nutrilite products. Nutrilite is known in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand as Nutriway.
History
Carl F. Rehnborg produced his 1930s vitamin supplements. His time in China between late 1915 and 1927 introduced him to events in which he learned the function of vitamins and nutrients in overall health. He started selling his vitamins as California Vitamin Company and renamed Nutrilite in 1939. In 1945, he devised the multi-level selling method to distribute his vitamins. Two men, Lee S. Mytinger and William S. Casselberry, became exclusive national distributors in 1945, operating a vitamin distribution company. [1]
Amway's founders, Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos, began in 1949 as independent distributors selling Nutrilite products, at a time when previous distributors of the product (Mytinger and Casselberry, Inc.) were involved in a dispute with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accusing them of false advertising. They quickly became top-selling distributors. Concerned about the FDA disagreement, Van Andel and DeVos formed an American Way (later known as Amway) new firm to apply the multi-level selling method for additional household products. In the 1960s, the FDA/Mytinger-Cassleberry controversy, which reached to the U.S. Supreme Court, was resolved for the FDA. [2]
Amway obtained a majority interest in the company in 1972 and took full possession in 1994.
In 2001, five Nutrilite products were NSF International's first certified dietary supplements.
Simply Nutrilite (later called Nutrilite Trim Advantage Body System) was developed in 2007. The collection comprises meal replacement snacks, antioxidant supplements, vitamin supplements. [Note required]

Carl Rehnborg was a forerunner in the fields of nutrition and wellness. He is most known for developing the very first multivitamin as well as founded the Nutrilite Corporation. Rehnborg was raised on a farm in Nebraska, where he was born in 1887, and it was there that he first became interested in issues pertaining to nutrition and health.
After finishing his schooling, Rehnborg worked in a number of different industries, such as mining and engineering, before finally relocating to California in the early 1930s. It was there that he made the decision to concentrate his efforts on the study of nutrition and the role that it plays in maintaining and improving health.
Because Rehnborg was particularly interested in the function that vitamins and minerals play in the body, he didn't waste any time getting down to business and testing out various nutrient cocktail formulations to see how they impacted the overall health of his patients. He discovered that many of his patients were lacking in specific nutrients, and that he could assist them in improving their general health and sense of well-being by adding vitamins and minerals to their meals as a supplement. He attributed this to the fact that he was able to help them.
In 1934, Rehnborg produced the first multivitamin supplement and named it Nutrilite. He patented his invention the following year. When he first started selling Nutrilite, he did it from door to door. Soon after, he established a network of distributors who were enthusiastic about the product and its potential to enhance the health of others.
Over the course of the subsequent few decades, Rehnborg's Nutrilite Corporation underwent a period of rapid expansion, eventually becoming one of the largest and most successful nutrition companies in the world. Because of Rehnborg's emphasis on the significance of getting adequate nutrition and his faith in the ability of vitamins and minerals to improve one's state of health, the idea of taking nutritional supplements became more mainstream, which opened the way for the development of the present wellness business.
In addition to his work with Nutrilite, Rehnborg was a strong supporter of environmentally conscious policies and environmentally responsible farming practices. He was of the opinion that the wellbeing of the earth was inextricably linked to that of its inhabitants, and as a result, he exerted a great deal of effort to encourage environmentally responsible agricultural methods and to safeguard the natural world.
Throughout his entire life, Rehnborg never wavered in his dedication to realizing his dream of a world in which everyone is healthy, happy, and accomplishes what they set out to do. He went away in 1973, but his legacy will live on through the Nutrilite Corporation and the numerous people whose lives he touched through his work in the field of nutrition and wellbeing. His legacy will continue on through the Nutrilite Corporation.
Carl Rehnborg is regarded as one of the most influential entrepreneurs of all time and a genuine trailblazer in the field of nutrition. His unwavering commitment to enhancing people's health and well-being has had a significant influence on the lives of millions of people all over the world, and his legacy continues to inspire and motivate those who are dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and sustainable living.
