Success Story
When you listen to this set by Semsettin Birkandan, you will think that he is genuine. And it was precisely this mindset that was required to be developed following some initial mistrust in the northern state of big business, which today encompasses Denmark, Germany, and Turkey.
First and foremost, he is studying the current father of two political science students in order to pursue his uncle's diplomatic career. In addition to his schooling, he had his own fast food restaurant. "I'd rather manage a restaurant than go back into the diplomatic service," his uncle declared in 1988 at the time. "Do you prefer to be your own boss?" Semsettin then took a break from his education to concentrate on achieving his freedom. Later, in 1991, he purchased the fitness facility in Kiel, where he had begun with 12 years in the children's karate club and obtained a black belt with 17 years of experience. When it first opened, the fitness centre was a huge success, but when more and more gym chains cropped up, they were unable to compete with his studio's offerings. While accompanying a friend from Istanbul on a carefully planned visit to the Amway firm in 1996, he was not immediately pleased, believing the venture to be a "Tingeltangelgeschäft." Despite this, he accepted an invitation to a networking event in Mannheim, where he met Hans Nusshold and Mitch Sala, his future upline from Australia, who both left a lasting impression on him. During the first three months of his business support, another upline member travelled from Australia to Germany to be with Semsettin specifically for the first three months. After his early success and attainment of the 9 percent threshold, however, he had a period of discouragement during which he considered giving up. However, it was at this precise moment that he received a phone call from Mitch Sala, who encouraged him to continue. Today, he is extremely successful, and he speaks at seminars not only in northern Germany, but also throughout Europe. His international upline, Deirdre and Mitch Sala, as well as his national upline, Eva and Hans Nusshold, need to be thanked for the tremendous assistance they provided him on his journey to success.
"Unconventional success" is a phrase used to describe a successful outcome that was unexpected.
Semsettin operates without the use of e-mail, the Internet, a computer, or a timer. His photographic memory for names, dates, and other crucial information is astounding. Very essential information is provided by e-Amway, which is run by his brother Murat, who is himself a platinum member, and is then printed at Semsettin. He completes all of his tasks in person, by SMS, and over the phone. He also does not have a regular office; instead, he works out of cafes and restaurants in Kiel, where he meets with his business partners and other interested parties to demonstrate the Amway Sales and Marketing Plan and to discuss business concerns.
Like other southerners, Semsettin is also the family life centre, which he appreciates because it allows him to spend more time with his two children, Ayla (16 years) and Kemal (15 years) (14 years). Because, even if he occasionally has a lengthy working day, the average working day for workers has reduced to a few hours in recent years. It was already familiar territory for Ayla and Kemal, who would go on to establish his own Amway firm in the years following.
Semsettin benefited not just from the additional time with his children, but also from the opportunity for personal development that he gained as a result of the experience. In fact, he describes himself as "far more sociable and more balanced," while also being "very caring." As a result, he finds it difficult to refrain from practising the notion of "leading by example." Everyone is capable of achieving their goals if they have the proper commitment and ambition, according to him. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Semsettin has not yet achieved the top of its career ladder, but has already established the parameters of its next objectives.
