Born the eldest of four children on Long Island, Rob grew up there. Success in academics and athletics was a result of strong family values and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
Rob had always dreamed of being the owner of his own firm, but after years of hard work and sacrifice in higher education and a corporate career, that ambition was growing increasingly out of reach.
Olivia was born in the Romanian capital of Bucharest. When she was six years old, her family immigrated to the United States in search of the American Dream.
They grew up in New York City, directly across the street from Central Park, with their younger brother.
Her parents took advantage of the free enterprise system and instilled in her the mentality "be the best, do your best" as a result of their experiences.
Rob and Olivia met while both pursuing graduate degrees: Rob was earning his MBA and Olivia was studying her PhD in French literature at the same time.
After three months together, Rob proposed, and they were married a year after that. A former classmate, Bob Grogan, and his wife, Wendy, approached Rob and Olivia at his high school reunion in 1984 and told them about an interesting business possibility.
Rob and Olivia were intrigued and decided to pursue the opportunity.
They had been married for four years and had recently purchased a home on Long Island's exclusive North Shore, where they planned to retire.
Despite the fact that "we were the epitome of success; we wore the perfect clothes and frequented the greatest locations and restaurants," Rob admits that he slept with a 100-pound weight on his chest every night because everything was paid for with credit.
"We were tricked into believing that credit is the way of life by society, and we were duped into believing that lie."
It took them five months after viewing the business proposal before they were able to open their kit. The timing of the business was not perfect, even though we were enthusiastic about it at the time.
When they eventually did get started, they agreed that giving their careers 50 hours a week, plus their daily 3-1/2 hour trip into Manhattan, wasn't going to give them the lifestyle their marketing business could!
"Working in Fortune 500 businesses, you're merely a number; no one truly cares about you or your welfare," says Olivia.
"We saw such fantastic examples of success in our new business and knew if we did what they did, we'd soon have what they have!"
They were so determined that they were able to achieve Platinum status in just six months. While on their honeymoon, Olivia had to stay in the hospital for 18 days due to problems following the birth of their first daughter, Ruby.
"Rob stood by my side throughout the hardship, putting little effort into growing our business, yet our revenue more than doubled!
The extent and security of this company, as well as the Britt system, became clear to us at that point."
Olivia has been unemployed since 1987, and Rob joined her in May 1995 when he became unemployed as well.
In addition to my family, my upline, and over 1,000 other close friends, it was a fantastic sensation to be celebrating my independence with them! Rob has a good memory.
Rob and Olivia are now full-time parents to their two daughters, Alexandra and Taylor, who are both in school.
They take pleasure in all of life's tangible comforts, yet they are aware of the source of their true gifts.
"Lifestyle isn't only about money - it's about peace of mind, lifetime friendships, no worry, family harmony, and everything else that the business and the Britt system represent."
