Amway India, a 100% owned subsidiary of Amway Corp, aims to increase its foothold in India by offering more Indian-specific products in the future. Persona cosmetic products, as well as alternatives to sell them in other Asian countries, have been fortified.
No Amway India products are exported from India as of yet. Pinckney, India Amway CEO and managing director, indicated that exporting to other countries is a distinct possibility in the future, especially with the introduction of more Persona-exclusive personal care and family items.
We are looking at Asian nations like Thailand and Indonesia, where there is a potential to export Persona products.
Amway offers two Persona products: adult toothbrush and talcum powder. In May, the business has lined up many product launches including Persona Junior toothbrushes for children, family toilet bar soap and hair grooming goods for males. Persona's products are made in India, according to Amway.
The turnover of Amway India was Rs 553 crore in 2000-01, representing over 40% of the organised direct selling market in India.
