She is a member of the Hawaii State Board of Education, which she was elected to serve on.
"Every year, Howard and Betty Lou Miura go across America on skis. He and his wife, Howard, are big fans of the Utah hills.
"We have seen and enjoyed 'America the Beautiful' from sea to shining sea," Howard adds. Betty Lou was the first person to become enthusiastic about the company.
Having worked as a school teacher for nine years, she had big ambitions and desired to be a full-time mother.
Howard worked as a harbour planning engineer for the Department of Transportation in Hawaii for a number of years.
When he attended a large seminar, he became aware of the opportunities the company provided.
His wife, Betty Lou, recognised straight immediately that this was a business that they could pass down to their children.
"It has made a significant difference in our lives. We are now both able to work from home and control our own schedules.
In her elected position on the Hawaii State Board of Education, where she advocates for high-quality education in basic skills, character, and family values, she has had the opportunity to use her freedom and leadership skills."
Betty Lou, as she puts it, "Once you've established a set of personal objectives, your fantasies might expand far beyond them."
