Plume, John & Kathy Amway

Plume, John & Kathy

"We recognised a fantastic chance to have a common focus on our future."

" As proprietors of three businesses in their Michigan neighbourhood, John and Kathy Plume were considered a success.

In reality, Kathy worked 10 hours a day, six days a week as a hospital administrator and served on various committees.

John worked 12 to 15 hours a day running their carpet store, furniture store and moving business.

They also owned a real estate development company, a car restoration company, were members of a service club and were active in their religion.

They had little time to be together. Some people with their schedule might have used lack of time as an excuse for not establishing a new business. For the Plumes, it was their purpose to begin.

They had been married for 10 years and had no children. "Here we saw an opportunity not only to earn revenue to help support our other businesses," John says, "but a way to spend much, much more time together.

We recognised a fantastic chance to have a similar focus on our future. We had attained our target of time." Their main joy in life today is in being with their son, Jonathan, and daughter, Kayla."
