Success Story
Steve and Julie Ridley first became aware of the company concept in 1988, when one of Steve's clients requested that they attend an open meeting to meet with Paul Miller, a former lawyer.
Steve was a senior partner at a prominent New Orleans law firm, where he represented many Fortune 500 companies in his capacity as a management labour lawyer.
Julie had been looking for work since she had left her position as marketing director for an engineering firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Steve was the perfect match.
Steve and Julie both graduated from Louisiana State University, Steve with a law degree and Julie with a master's degree in marketing, respectively.
Steve was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in the state of Texas.
Even though Julie was born in Honduras, in Central America, both of her parents are originally from the Holy Land, which is located in the Middle East.
Steve was too busy practising law and serving as Vice-Chairman of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce to devote his whole focus to the business until he attended a large conference in Atlanta where he met Bill Britt.
With their advancement to the Emerald level in 1992, Steve Ridley scaled down on his law profession to half-time, resulting in a fifty-percent reduction in the amount of money earned from his legal job.
Steve and Julie had come to the conclusion that the lifestyle of a Diamond was far superior to that of a lawyer, who had no time for family or friendships.
They were right. The Ridleys arrived to Diamond in February 1994, and they are looking forward to seeing other members of their group enjoy the Diamond lifestyle as they have.
It is the only business where successful millionaires dedicate their time and resources to assisting others to achieve the same level of success, according to Steve.
"This business is unique in the business world, because it is the only business where successful millionaires dedicate their time and resources to assisting others to achieve the same level of success," says Steve.
It is a relationship that begins with the premise that we all have equal worth and have the same opportunity, which is why this mentorship programme is so important to any business success.
A big number of professionals are members of Steve and Julie's organisation, and they see the business as a means of generating not just time and money, but also a sense of security based on individual effort and devotion to others, which is virtually nonexistent in today's corporate environment.
As Steve explains, "Corporate reorganisation, downsizing, and worldwide competition have combined to produce a white collar wasteland of laid-off executives and professionals, which in turn has created a massive new pool of candidates who might not otherwise have considered the chance."
In the Ridleys' opinion, one of the most significant benefits of their economic success has been the restoration of balance in their lives, as well as the appropriate alignment of their spiritual and family goals.
"Working couples with latchkey children who spend little time with their parents produce all kinds of societal difficulties, particularly for fathers who don't have time to spend with their sons," Steve explains.
"This opportunity is a way to help the family survive these rough and tumble times."
