Leif Amway Johnson was an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is best known for his work as President and CEO of Amway, which is one of the largest direct-selling enterprises in the world. Johnson passed away in 2002. On October 19, 1957, in Muskegon, Michigan, Johnson was born to Rich DeVos and Helen Van Wesep, who were the co-founders of Amway. Johnson is the son of Rich DeVos. He spent his childhood in Ada, Michigan, where he also received his high school education at Forest Hills Central. Following his graduation from high school, Johnson went on to pursue a degree in business administration at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He earned this degree and went on to become successful in the business world.

1982 was the beginning of Leif Johnson's professional career at Amway, where he had a variety of jobs over the course of his tenure, including those in sales and marketing, product development, and international expansion. Johnson was given the position of President of Amway Europe in 1993, and it was his responsibility to extend the company's operations throughout Europe. Amway Europe had substantial development when he was serving as the region's head, and as a result, the company became the most successful direct-selling organization in the region.

Rich DeVos's son, Leif Johnson, took over as President and Chief Executive Officer of Amway in 2002, succeeding his father in both roles. During the time that Johnson was CEO of the company, one of his primary focuses was growing the business's presence in developing markets such as China, India, and Africa. Additionally, he launched a digital platform to support the company's sales force while simultaneously introducing new product lines. Amway's annual sales income increased to nearly $8 billion when he was in charge of the company.

Leif Johnson was well known for his work in the charitable sector in addition to his position at Amway. He was a member of the board of directors at the National Constitution Center in addition to his role as Chairman of the United States Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Johnson also created the Leif and Debra Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. This center is located in Allendale, Michigan, and it offers education and training to people who are interested in pursuing professions in philanthropy.

In 2018, Leif Johnson stepped down from his position as CEO of Amway, and Milind Pant was promoted to take his place. Despite this, he maintains his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the company, so he is still actively involved. Johnson's legacy at Amway is one of growth and expansion, and his leadership played a vital role in establishing the firm as a global powerhouse in the direct-selling sector. His legacy will be remembered as one of growth and expansion.
