Marsh, Charlie & Elsie Amway

 Story

Charlie and Elsie first became acquainted with the Amway business in 1964 when visiting Elsie's mother. While there, Charlie noticed a can of shoe glow and decided to test it out. After selling numerous cans of product just by spraying the bottoms of everyone's shoes he came into contact with, he felt it would be best to phone the company and place an order for a couple of cases of product. After that, he discovered that sponsorship was required, and the lead ended up with Ted Elias, who was brand new to the business and travelled 200 miles to demonstrate Charlie and Elsie the proposal in question. At the time, Charlie was a police officer in Rome, New York, making $72 a week, and the two of them were living in his father's residence. When Charlie learned about the idea, he became enthused and devised a strategy to gain an advantage. In just four months, they had earned $4,000 from their Amway business, and he had decided to leave the police department. Charlie and Elsie were the first Amway representatives to earn the Triple Diamond and Crown awards. Charlie and Elsie are still actively involved in their business, and they are able to live a fantastic lifestyle as a result of it. Their son Jon and his wife Dee are platinum directors, as is their grandson.

Charlie died on April 26th, 2010, after a long illness. R.I.P.
