Shim, Wonbo & Han, Jungah Amway

In 2011, there were three diamonds in total: double diamonds in 2010 and triple diamonds in 2011. August 2011 - Crowned May 2012 - Crowned Ambassador July 2012 - Fastest US Crown Ambassador (7 Years) in history.

Minnesota is the Crown Ambassador of the United States (2012), Wonbo Shim and Jungah Han, as well as their children Sandra, 17, Catherine, 14, and Kristin, 11, spent their most recent trip to Hawaii as a family, which was a joyful occasion. Apart from receiving recognition for their business achievements, it was Jungah's birthday, and what better place to celebrate than in the beautiful Hawaiian islands!

“Everything was wonderful — the friendly welcome at the airport, the limo ride to the hotel, and, most importantly, our unique host. Everything was so beautiful, and every detail was taken care of, that we never had to stand in line. We were handled with respect, as if we were nobles. My first thought was that it was a lovely way to celebrate – and gosh, we are doing it as a family.” I was right; it is a lovely way to celebrate.

Sandra's first helicopter ride was one of the highlights of the week, and Wonbo recalls a few of the highlights: "It was exciting to witness her experience her first helicopter ride." Sandra said, "I think the entire trip was an eye-opener for her." Jungah concurs, saying, "That's correct." “What Sandra was most interested in, though, was the EDC programmes themselves, and how they brought leaders and ideas together. The corporation places a high value on its employees, and that trip made us feel appreciated.”

Making people the first and most important priority

When it comes to keeping up with the needs of their business partners, Wonbo and Jungah have done an excellent job. It is just as vital today as it was back then, when their list of business partners was much less and consisted primarily of family members, neighbours, and friends who lived in adjacent towns, according to Jungah and her husband. « Getting to know new business partners has always been a pleasure for us. In the beginning, we would load up the kids and head out for a trip, stopping to visit with downline families.”

Everyone benefits from technology's ability to keep them linked.

As the company grew, so did the distances between its downlines. Even though Wonbo and Jungah still cherish face-to-face meetings, they have incorporated technology into their regular work conversations to improve efficiency. Smartphones and email allow them to stay in touch at all times. They stay linked across the miles thanks to their website, which includes a bulletin board where they can transmit messages to a larger number of individuals. Wonbo explains, "One individual might submit a query on a product that they are interested in. Most inquiries can be answered by a number of qualified individuals, and the dialogues that ensue are usually positive and focused on finding positive solutions to problems. Other individuals may have had a similar query, and now everyone will be able to see the solution. The beauty of it is that I am not required to be present at all times to deliver answers.”

Wonbo and Jungah's partners are now predominantly Korean, accounting for more than 95 percent of their total. IBOs that speak Korean are able to converse in their native language and interact with other members of their community because to technological advancements. In Wonbo's opinion, "right now our website is the finest place for Korean downlines to acquire knowledge in their own language, talk with mentor specialists, and work through challenges with individuals who care about their success."

Wonbo and Jungah used FaceTime (video conferencing via their iPhones) to conduct a telephone conference with their colleagues. Although it is not exactly the same as being present in person, they find it to be convenient and a pleasant method to be able to see each other's faces while conversing.

They claim that they rack up thousands of miles on their frequent flyer programme by interacting with Independent Business Owners (IBOs) in major cities throughout 39 states because they still prefer human interaction. The fact that Wonbo's frequent flyer award level is Diamond is a source of amusement for them. Adding, "We're also at the Diamond level over there," he says.

It is preferable to have two than one.

Wonbo was originally introduced to the Plan through a golfing buddy. However, it was Jungah who made the commitment to moving their company forward quickly, while Wonbo worked as an engineer during the week and lent a hand at night and on weekends.

Wonbo is now fully committed to their business, and Jungah appreciates how well they communicate and collaborate. Wonbo's focus and concentration, according to Jungah, are two of his greatest assets. “Dad is excellent at thinking the big picture and putting in the necessary time and effort to achieve the goal, and our children like coming home to find Daddy waiting for them when they get home from school.”

One hundred diamonds are on the table.

Wonbo and Jungah have a shared vision for their company: they want to see 100 diamonds in their group by the end of the year, and they are determined to see it through. “This is a worldwide business, and there are no boundaries to what we can achieve,” the couple agrees.

Wonbo and Jungah are overjoyed to be in the position they are in right now. “We appreciate that Amway is a company that values and respects families and family values,” Wonbo explains. It is more than just a company for us; it is our life's mission. We believe in it so passionately that we wish to spread the word over the world!”
