We were impoverished and had a terrible upbringing. Having been raised with a basic ambition that we have held onto with tenacity since childhood, we have aspired to have a wonderful, happy, and successful life. We were taught that if we worked hard, we would be able to obtain a decent education and earn a comfortable existence.
Overcoming different hardships during my childhood helped me (Ken) become more self-assured and driven. Upon graduating from University Malaya with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, I went on to work for a large corporation. Everything went just according to plan. However, we discovered that we had strayed so far from our goals that it was no longer possible for us to achieve them.
We came to the conclusion that the only way to achieve our goals was to start our own firm. We looked high and low for two years for a firm that fit our objectives and goals, which included a small initial investment, ongoing supervision and support, opportunities for professional and personal growth, a reliable and consistent income, and the opportunity to give back to the community. We were able to track down AMWAY at long last. I was 31 years old and Carmen was 24 years old when we decided to quit our individual careers and devote our entire time and energy to AMWAY.
The persons who have come and gone from our AMWAY business during the course of our development have been numerous. We chose not to be like them and instead soldiered on by keeping our thoughts and behaviours as basic as possible. With two objectives in mind: becoming Diamond Directs and becoming members of the Founders Council, we set out to accomplish both. We maintained our focus and progressed toward our objectives one step at a time. We learned from our mistakes and avoided comparing ourselves to others. We had faith in ourselves as well as in the company. We were confident in our ability to reap the benefits of all of the hard work we had put in thus far.
Our efforts were rewarded. We qualified as Platinum Directs in 2005, Founders Platinum Directs in 2006, Sapphire Directs in 2007, Founders Sapphire Directs in 2008, Emerald Directs and Founders Emerald Directs in 2010, and Diamond Directs in July 2012. We qualified as Platinum Directs in 2005, Founders Platinum Directs in 2006, Sapphire Directs in 2007, Founders Sapphire Directs in 2008, and Diamond Directs in July 2012.
AMWAY has enhanced our general well-being, and we now have complete choice in deciding how we want to spend our lives moving forward. We have finally obtained the ideal and well-balanced lifestyle that we desired. We are now full-time parents to our two wonderful children, ZeYu and Ze Jay, who are the joy of our lives. We get to be with them 24 hours a day, and we get to experience their everyday development.
Our experience with AMWAY has taught us to take it easy and enjoy the trip rather than concentrating too much on the end result of the travel. This company broadened our knowledge and provided us with the necessary attitude and a good frame of mind to succeed. We learned to value, appreciate, and express gratitude to people who were in our lives. Through personal growth and the expansion of our social circle, we were able to broaden our perspectives even further. We were also invited to the prestigious ALS tournaments in Rome, Alaska, Osaka, Los Angeles, Dubai, Paris and Sydney as well as the Diamond Invitational tournament in Turkey, among other places.
We are grateful to our parents for the way they raised us. We would want to express our gratitude to everyone who has ever assisted us in any form. We are grateful to God for all of the benefits he has bestowed upon us, and we are especially grateful to our children, ZeYu and Ze Jay, who serve as a source of inspiration for us as we move forward.
