Your Amway Upline - A Wolf In Disguise?

The most pernicious aspect of some Amway LOS leaders, such as those I had in WWDB, is that they appear to be cutthroat, heartless businessmen dressed in fine suits, who are disguising themselves as your mentors and friends in order to gain your trust. They will convince you that they have your best interests at heart and that they would never intentionally lead you astray if they can get you to trust them. On the surface, you might believe this to be true, but take a closer look at their activities and it becomes clear that some of these uplines are truly vicious businessmen who would take every penny they could from you if they had the opportunity. Based on a WWDB IBO blog, I have excellent cause to assume that this is still being done by the organisation where I previously worked. As I go through this site, I see a lot of the same teachings and claims that I heard when I was an IBO. For example, I see statements like Amway saving marriages and buying homes with cash. It's a little frightening.

As an IBO, the diamonds would advise you to never miss an event under any circumstances. The only justification you could give for missing an event was that you were attending your own funeral. Several crossline IBOs I've known have rescheduled pre-planned family celebrations such as anniversaries, weddings, and other special occasions in the name of being core and attending all functions. Some IBOs did, in fact, abandon their jobs in order to attend events, and it's possible that they did so because their uplines instructed them to do so. Also encouraged and told to go into debt in order to attend a celebration were Independent Business Owners (IBOs). This was OK because it represented an investment in your company.

Our group was also forcefully encouraged to purchase additional CDs on a weekly basis. To be honest, you needed to listen to a CD every day, and you couldn't just listen to the same one every day, could you? Couples were instructed to purchase separate standing orders for themselves. Brad Duncen even had a true north tape (cd) that stated that sponsors were to eat the standing orders for downlines who quit because it was too much work to call upline who calls upline who calls upline in order to cancel a standing order because it was too much trouble. They didn't seem to mind upline phoning upline calling upline in order to set up a standing order, which was surprising.

In the end, I was fortunate enough to be rising up the pin ranks at the time of my defeats, which made them not as heartbreaking. I ended up losing money in my first few months of operation, but I was generally profitable by the time I reached 4000 PV. Unfortunately, my crossline did not fare quite as well. I am aware of at least one couple who filed for bankruptcy. No one knows how much their WWDB affiliation led to their bankruptcy, but I am confident that it was a significant influence. I am also aware of at least two couples who had their homes foreclosed, and I believe that their ties to WWDB played a role in those foreclosures as well. Perhaps they were duplicating, since two WWDB diamonds had their homes foreclosed on at the same time.

Do not be taken in by this ruse. If you allow them to, the diamonds will take your last dime, despite the fact that they have a good grin and a nice suit on their faces.

It is sad that some people may have terrible experiences with their Amway upline, which causes them to perceive their sponsor as "wolves in disguise." Although it is possible that there are some people who misuse their position as an upline, it is essential to keep in mind that these people do not represent the majority of Amway distributors.

In point of fact, the vast majority of upline distributors in Amway's business model are individuals who are sincere, diligent, and committed to ensuring the success of the other members of their teams. They are fully aware that the accomplishments of their team are directly proportional to their own, and as a result, they exert an extraordinary amount of effort to offer their teammates with instruction, guidance, and leadership in order to facilitate the achievement of their objectives.

On the other hand, there may be some situations in which the behavior of an upline is unethical or exploitative. For instance, they may exert pressure on members of the team to make purchases of things that are not necessary or to attend pricey training programs. They might also produce income projections that are implausibly high or exaggerate the possible benefits of launching a new firm while downplaying the related dangers and difficulties.

When working with an upline, it is essential for new distributors to conduct their own research and be cautious. They should make it a priority to completely familiarize themselves with the Amway business model in addition to the opportunities for both risks and rewards that are linked with it. They should also seek advice and answers to their questions from a variety of sources, such as other Amway distributors who have more expertise as well as independent financial advisors.

Distributors who have the impression that their upline is acting unethically or taking advantage of them should not be afraid to speak up and should look for assistance from other team members or from Amway corporate. Amway has stringent regulations in place to avoid unethical behavior and to protect the interests of its distributors, and they treat all accusations of misbehavior seriously. Amway has also made it clear that they will not tolerate any unethical behavior.

In conclusion, while there may be some individuals who misuse their status as an upline in the Amway business model, the vast majority of upline distributors are honest and hard-working people who are committed to assisting their team members in achieving success in their own businesses. It is essential for new Amway distributors to exercise care and seek information from a variety of different sources; nevertheless, it is equally essential for them to acknowledge the benefit of having an upline that is both supportive and competent in order to develop a prosperous Amway business.
