Prior to dedicating full time in Amway, Edison and Sawin worked in the MTR Corporation and government sector respectively. At first, Edison was suspicious about the Amway company. When he got to know Amway, he ended up joining Amway because of its fair business model.
Edison said, "I am a practical person. I do not mind the pin level; it is the prize that I'm chasing. At Amway, I earn stable income." Edison has overcome ups and downs with ease and confidence. When his downlines overtook him in earning a Diamond, he just worked twice as hard since he believed in reward will come with hard effort.
The dedicated couple is members of School Management Council and had coordinated several charity visits with an intention to serve the community. They have three sons and all of them have fulfilled a balanced development in academic and personal interests.

"Because of a poor encounter with a pyramid scheme, I have a negative attitude toward direct selling. There are just one or two things available at Pyramid, and their sales strategy is sloppy. Rather of concentrating on constructing people, they are unable to last longer than three years "Edison explains the situation. It was in 1983 that Edison tracked Sawin down to an Amway gathering with the sole intention of demonstrating to Sawin that this was an untrustworthy enterprise. It's ironic that Edison ended up joining Amway because of the company's high-quality products and equitable sales scheme. As of 1999, Amway Corporation is celebrating its 40th anniversary, while Amway Hong Kong is celebrating its 25th anniversary of operation. It's easy to discern how long the company has been in operation. Edison has handled the ups and downs of his life with grace and confidence. His downlines passed him in the race to become a Diamond. And he basically worked twice as hard as he did before because he thought that hard work would be rewarded. Edison and Sawin are the parents of three sons. Howard, the eldest, is 14 years old and is a pianist; Dick, the youngest, is 12 years old and enjoys poetry recitals; and Edwin, the youngest, is a dancer and painter. The dedicated couple are members of the School Management Council (SMC) and have organised a number of charity visits with the goal of benefiting the community as much as possible.
