Success Story (Historia de Exito)
When I lived in the Dominican Republic, Pablo Zabala had big dreams, and within his dreams, one, I took mine away, had built for me a reckless plan, I spoke with him on several occasions to persuade him about one of his plans, however His desire to achieve his dream was voracious and led him to a dangerous odyssey (going to Puerto Rico in a yola) due to our precariousness, which later ended up being rewarded with the comforting family union and security that we enjoy today.
He always had the attitude of the leader, he never let anyone steal his dream, he stood against the odds, he had to work hard and study his communication career at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, UASD, in 1989, Pablo sold insurance of life to support his wife and daughters, but he did not live as he wanted, it was not enough, income is scarce and the economic crisis that shook the decade of the 80 is accentuated.
It was a struggle for us, who had known each other during childhood, I came from a large family of 11 brothers and sisters, my father was a peasant who lived on the little that was produced in the field, while my mother raised the children in Santo Domingo, where relatives could help them.
Pablo arose from a family made up of six brothers and sisters, his father was a peasant, but he dreamed of seeing his children go to university, finally, Pablo was achieving academic and social conquests, fulfilling his own wishes and driven by his notorious dreams, he managed to graduate as a journalist, later setting his interest in new goals with more ambitions, a bit risky, even exposing his own life.
Today Pablo tells us: "There are many things I wanted for my family, but it was difficult for me to achieve them." To pursue his dream of success, he had to leave the country, leaving, with all the pain in his dejected soul, his beautiful family and all his loved ones, whom he did not listen to in his eagerness to change his destiny and calamitous life.
He had to live in rental houses, from neighborhood to neighborhood, these discomforts fed his dreams and he set his compass towards Coquà Island, managing to step on the mainland in Puerto Rico, after several attempts.
Once there, he began to work with a mad desire to save money that would allow him to buy a plane ticket to New York, given his abilities and personal virtues, he managed to establish his own company called Frutas Dominicanas Enterprise, C x A. which he started with A commercial fruit point of sale selling avocados, apples, and other tropical fruits, which were in great demand among Dominicans and Puerto Ricans, soon after was able to consolidate more than 7 fruit stands with the same number of workers in Rio Piedras but the joy lasts
In just seven months, Pablo Zabala arrived in the Big Apple with $ 120 in his pockets. "He had no family or friends he knew who could help him, give him a hand, so he went to a hotel in Brooklyn, where he knew he would find other Hispanics, because he didn't speak English," what a tragedy. "The second day in Brooklyn, it's over He had to sleep in an abandoned car for the next two weeks, without money to feed himself, just to get sugar water and bread, recalls Pablo, harassed by loneliness and lack of resources. economic to continue fighting for their dreams. "
Nothing stopped Pablo Zabala from conquering his desired dreams and in a short time he got a job in the clothing industry. He has become a leader of the main labor unions, thanks to his experience in community organizations that he developed in the towns of Las Matas de Farfán in the south and Manzanillo Bay in the northeast of the Dominican Republic.
The ILGWU (Needle Union) hired him to organize workers in other factories and his income almost tripled. His life of him was getting better, he had substantially improved, but he needed his family of him, he wanted his wife and daughters to accompany him; at night, after work he felt empty, so he designed a new plan and said "Now my main dream is to bring Cai and my girls here, so they can live and develop in the United States," he remembers.
Pablo had known in the Dominican Republic, the Amway Independent Distributor business, venturing for a short period of time, but in New York, he looked for a sponsor to introduce him to the Amway business, and there he met Mario Ciprian, his sponsor today, he started His business for the second time in 1991, he feverishly built, reached the level of emerald within a period of 3 years, with the goal of joining us to work together in New York, to help build the company we needed and unify our family. At the time our daughters, Jenndy, 11 years old and Jenniffer, 9 years old, who are later brought to the United States
