Teitsma, George & Eleanor Amway

Eleanor began selling Nutrilite dietary supplement products in 1950, working as a distributor for the company that would ultimately become Amway Corporation.

When Amway was founded in 1958, George abandoned his employment with the United States Postal Service and became a full-time employee of the Amway distributorship, where he handled administrative duties while Eleanor handled sales and recruitment.

They worked well as a team and derived considerable pleasure from spending so much of their time together.

During their trip across the country in their Airstream travel trailer, which they used for both business and pleasure, the three of them had an incredible amount of time together.

When Larry was an adult and he and his wife Anne were on a European vacation, Eleanor joined them and has always had wonderful memories of her time in that part of the world.

The company's distributors were recruited from all over the country by Eleanor, who was a bright and enthusiastic businesswoman.

Her speech at an Amway convention in Chicago was met with warm and enthusiastic applause from an audience of more than 5000 people, despite the fact that she went over the allotted time for the speech.

She and her husband, George, were overjoyed and grateful to have reached the status of Diamond Distributor.

Their biggest source of pride and happiness, on the other hand, was found in their family. Eleanor was overjoyed when she found out she was going to be a grandma for the first time.

She treasured every hug, grin, and chuckle she received from her three grandkids, and she looked forward to watching them grow and learn.

Eleanor experienced a stroke in 2005 that left her partially paraplegic, necessitating her relocation to an assisted living facility.

She passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006, as a result of complications from the stroke.

The family of Eleanor Vander Molen includes her husband George, her children Dr. Larry and Anne Teitsma and their children Nathan, Marc and Denise, and David, her brother Ray VanTuinen, Lucille DeVries, Tress DeVries, and Pearl Vander Molen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
