Not Sniping Prospects at the Mall

Try this if you're searching for something completely meaningless to do.

One night, the Platinum sack of crap convened a "special meeting" for a small group of IBOs who had been invited. Unfortunately, we were on the summons list and ended up meeting up with other ambots at a shopping mall instead. After that, the Platinum provided instructions. We had to approach people and ask them for directions in order to reach where we wanted to go. For example, if we noticed someone sipping coffee, we had to approach them and inquire as to where the coffee shop was. Alternatively, we had to approach random people and ask them if they had a cell phone and if there was a cell phone store in the mall where we could purchase one. It's that sort of stuff. A thirty-minute time restriction was set, and we had to return to the meeting location and write down our comments either on the way there or as soon as we got back to show the Platinum as proof that we had approached the persons we wanted to talk to.

The practise consisted in starting a conversation with someone at random and asking for directions because most individuals are willing to assist others in getting where they need to go. It was kind of amusing when the man we inquired about a cell phone brought his own out and demonstrated all of its functions before spending a considerable amount of time talking us about it and where he'd purchased it. Despite all of the time Ambot spent conversing with him about getting a phone, he never received his phone number!

The purpose of this small exercise, I believe, was to educate us how to approach strangers and strike up a dialogue with them. None of the interactions we had when asking for directions progressed past the point of making an Amway pitch or requesting a phone number. That was not a part of the exercise to start a conversation with someone.

The main goal of this exercise, in my opinion, was to see who would be the first ass kisser to return to the Platinum with a cup of coffee.

Amway is yet another way to spend an hour of your time. We've got to find something to do with those 10 to 15 hours a week!

Building Ethical Sales Practices While Not Stealing Customers from Prospects in Public Places

Those who work in sales are frequently confronted with the issue of making contact with prospective consumers and concluding negotiations. Although increasing sales is a valid corporate objective, the manner in which it is pursued can have a significant influence not only on how customers view the salesperson but also on the reputation of the industry as a whole. "Sniping prospects at the mall" is a controversial practice that has received a great amount of attention in recent years. This strategy entails approaching unsuspecting persons in public locations in order to sell items or services to them. However, it is essential to be aware of the ethical issues that are raised by this approach and to investigate potential alternatives that place a higher emphasis on respect, permission, and making decisions after being fully informed.

It is considered an invasion of a person's personal space and privacy to approach someone in a public place like a shopping mall or other public area without first obtaining their explicit agreement. The majority of people that go to shopping malls do so for recreation, shopping, or to spend time with family and friends; they do not go with the aim of engaging in discussion with salespeople. If you approach someone without their invitation, it may ruin their pleasure, give them the impression that you are intruding, and destroy the trust and rapport that are vital for conducting ethical business dealings.

Concerns regarding the level of informed consent are also raised when there is insufficient prior knowledge about the individuals who are being approached. Salespeople run the risk of pressing potential customers into making hasty judgments or acquiring goods or services that may not be suited for them because they may not understand their individual wants, preferences, or financial situations. This might result in customers having buyer's remorse, feeling dissatisfied, and causing damage to the connection with the customer.

It is possible for sales professionals to engage potential consumers in a manner that is more moral and productive by adopting alternative methods, such as sniping prospects at the mall. Here are some other options to consider:

Inbound marketing requires a concentration on the production of useful content as well as the establishment of an online presence that draws in interested prospects. Sales professionals may position themselves as knowledgeable resources by positioning themselves as knowledgeable resources, by offering relevant information, by addressing their problem spots, and by creating trust. Prospects who show an interest in acquiring this knowledge on their own initiative are more likely to be receptive to engaging in conversations about sales.

Referrals and Networking: Cultivate solid relationships with existing clients, coworkers, and industry contacts so that they can recommend prospective clients to you. Word-of-mouth recommendations have greater weight and confidence than other types of referrals since they come from people who have personally experienced the value of the products or services you offer.

Communication based on opt-in: Give prospective clients the opportunity to tell you they are interested in what you have to offer and that they are willing to receive information about it. This can be accomplished through the use of online forms, email subscriptions, or newsletters that require opting in. You may rest assured that the people who participate in your sales efforts have done so out of genuine interest in what you have to offer if you take the time to seek approval from them.

Participation in the Community Participate in local groups, activities, or causes that are congruent with your core beliefs and your intended audience. Because of this, you will have the opportunity to establish a presence in the community and to form relationships in a manner that is more natural and genuine.

Personal Branding: If you want to establish yourself as a reliable authority in your field, you should put some work into developing your personal brand. You can attract prospects who are already interested in your expertise and solutions if you establish yourself as a thought leader, accept speaking engagements, or have a strong web presence.

Sales professionals may help cultivate a more favorable perception of the industry and establish more meaningful connections with potential clients if they adopt these ethical sales methods and put them into practice. The establishment of trust, the maintenance of appropriate limits, and the promotion of well-informed decision-making should form the basis of every sales strategy.
