Amway Global / Quixtar - "Selling the dream"

I've prepared a brief musical interlude for you today.

When we were in Scamway, the cult leaders would frequently broadcast this video, which I believe was titled Did You Know? at one point. It lasted approximately 6 or 7 minutes. It only seemed like it took longer! They would show it before the opening of the meeting, I assume to serve as a prelude to whatever idiot was scheduled to talk that evening. The film we viewed had nothing to do with Amway; instead, it was a compilation of statistics and information about what was happening throughout the world. For example, did you know how many people reside in Africa, how many individuals work past the age of retirement, or how many people are dead? Did you know these things? No, not in the traditional sense. Those are only my words to give you a broad notion of what I'm talking about. I honestly can't recall anything specific from the did you know portion of the movie that we watched that day. During my time with Amway, I must have watched the video at least five times.

Ambot, on the other hand, was paying attention. It seemed like everywhere we went, he'd pull out one of the numbers from the video and quote it. What if I told you something you already knew? That's something you probably didn't know.

Who cares, to paraphrase the preferred phrase of Amway's top executives.

Like, just shut up and do your job!

However, Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) must carry themselves with a sense of self-importance, as though they are better than everyone else.

This Selling the Dream ad reminds me of the Did You Know film that we used to watch in elementary school.

Except, of course, because this one is superior!
