Amway And The World Series Of Poker?

"World Series of Poker" is an annual event held at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas, which takes place around this time of year. Thousands of individuals go to Las Vegas to participate in the main event, which costs $10,000. The majority of people anticipate losing their money, but they view it as a learning experience. Some individuals desire to be victorious, but in the end, there can only be one champion in the world. While there will be a small number of people who profit from their $10,000 admission fee, the great majority will see their money disappear into thin air. The majority of players are well aware of the overwhelming odds against them winning at the final table, but they continue to play nevertheless.

Similar principles apply to the Amway business opportunity, which is marketed via Amway Motivational Organizations (AMOs). The primary distinction is that most prospective IBOs enter the enterprise with the expectation of winning, whereas there is no guarantee that there will be a champion (new diamond). There is a genuine potential that all Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) would lose money in the Amway opportunity. Unfortunately, as I have stated, the vast majority of individuals enter with the expectation of winning. The vast majority of participants are completely unaware of the enormous and overwhelming odds against them making a net profit, let alone achieving the coveted "diamond" status in the game.

For the most part, in both scenarios, the vast majority of individuals lose money in order for a small number of people to profit. The difference is that poker players are generally aware that they are likely to lose, whereas Amway participants are frequently led to believe that they are likely to succeed. The vast majority of Amway participants realise this and quit. With poker, however, there is a significant difference in that poker players do not typically stop playing. When Amway participants decide to leave, the vast majority of them desire nothing to do with the company or its products.

This is supported by the fact that former IBOs are less likely than current IBOs to continue purchasing Amway products after they have left the company. If they did, Amway's sales would continue to grow even if their IBO force shrank as a result of their efforts. However, this is not the case. Even if the increase in IBO retention is accurate, it does not appear to be translating into increased sales or an increase in the number of new diamonds emerging from the systems, as some Amway fans have recently boasted about.

According to my calculations, there have been considerably more World Series of Poker champions in the last ten years than there have been new diamonds and emeralds discovered in North America. Given that the World Series also includes minor events, there are many more champions than there are new diamonds and emeralds in the world.
