What is WWDB Tapespeak?
This is a response to a comment published on my blog. The following is Joecool's commentary:
The following was written by an anonymous user: "I am an independent business owner with Amway and WWDB. I would refrain from passing judgement on those of us who are involved with this incredible company until you become an IBO yourself. Our organisation is focused on not only our own success, but also on assisting others in their own endeavours. To be honest, money plays a significant role in our success, but the teachings and information that are provided to us are not only assisting us in becoming better businesspeople, but they are also assisting us in being better people in general. Many of the individuals and couples who are engaged with WWDB and Amway have had their lives entirely transformed as a result of their efforts in growing their businesses and spending time with the amazing people who are part of the organisation. I was in the same boat as you before I became an IBO, and when I initially heard about the plan, I thought there was a very little chance that I would make any significant money from it. I learned from my incredible upline team that with hard work and devotion, you can achieve your goals and become as successful as you desire! The CORE is an excellent set of rules that helps you stay focused on your objectives and helps all of us construct the finest and most successful organisation we possibly can. Please refrain from passing judgement because you clearly have a "glass half empty" mentality, and with your current attitude, it is likely that you would not make a dollar."
As an aside, I find it amusing how people claim that WWDB has changed and that they are nothing like the experience I had as a WWDB Independent Business Owner (IBO) back in the late 1990s. In spite of this, I continue to see and hear current IBOs who claim to be from WWDB and who speak the same things I was taught. That diamonds are willing to pay cash for anything, including homes and other high-value commodities. That WWDB IBOs have a divorce rate of 2 percent is a fact. As a result of WWDB, you become a more successful businessperson and a better person in general. How can they determine that WWDB makes you a better businessperson when it is likely that over 99 percent of their business building IBOs suffer losses as a result of system fees is beyond me.
It is not necessary to work hard to achieve financial success in WWDB or Amway, despite what the "wonderful upline" claims. There is NO recorded evidence that WWDB does anything other than deplete the bank accounts of IBOs and their affiliates. If you look closely into CORE, you will discover that it is structured to maintain money coming upline through the purchase of tools. Anything you receive in the form of assistance from your upline diamonds is always reimbursed to you by your downline in some fashion.
Positive thinking, while beneficial, does not necessarily translate into long-term, sustainable achievement. When it comes to Amway, it is possible to be cheery and positive while also being a terrible failure, which is the experience that the majority of "professional" IBOs go through. In Amway, you cannot "choose" to be successful in the same way that you cannot choose to win the lottery.
Since the 1970s, motivational and inspiring audio recordings have been an integral part of the Amway culture. These recordings are referred to by the term "Amway Tapespeak," which is used to describe them.
