I was recently contacted by someone who expressed an interest in starting a blog, and I wanted to provide him with some encouragement in order to help him get his site up and running as quickly as possible. Take a look at it!

Money. We require it, we desire it, and we desire even more. There is no counter-argument to this. A little extra is always welcomed by even the most content of content creators. Well, a few years back, I was in desperate need of not only a little more cash...but a regular source of income! I received a phone call from a friend with whom I hadn't spoken in over two years. To be completely honest, I was startled that he still had my phone number in his possession. He was contacting me from the United States capital of Washington, DC. He and a few other individuals I knew were attending a "business conference," and they were desperate to persuade me to become a member of their "team."
A few years back, I came across something that seemed similar. After all is said and done, I'm inclined to believe it was Amway as well. The problem was that the "opportunity" wasn't presented properly, therefore I passed on it. However, this individual provided a lot of energy. I'm a naturally enthusiastic person, so I was able to recognise and appreciate it. He (we'll call him Mike) and a few of other males I knew introduced me to one another a few weeks later. One of them was the "upline leader" (we'll call him Matthew for the sake of simplicity).
It was Amway, to be sure. I'd heard of Amway before, but I didn't know much about it. My ignorance was so profound that I mistook it for Amtrak, which should demonstrate my level of ignorance. The plan sounded fantastic on paper. The opportunity to earn some extra money is fantastic, and if I perform well enough, I could earn five to six figures. I had been extremely close to landing a couple of sales positions, and I had been told repeatedly by others that my personality was ideal for sales, so this looked like a wonderful way to put that strength to use in a professional setting.
I was convinced I had discovered something tangible.
The next year, I attended the Summer Conference. I was advised that attending these weekend seminars was essential to being a successful IBO. We leased vans and drove the approximately 10-11 hours from our location to Baltimore, Maryland. When we arrived at the hotel, I discovered that I would be sharing a room with four other people. However, because of the way Matthew and Mike made it seem, it was WORTH IT to assist push individuals to achieve success. He DID make a valid point. The mood was similar to that of a concert or athletic event. To get the gathering going, a band played energetic, well-known music to get everybody moving. At one point, there was even a conga line formed! I was taking it all in and was astonished that people could be so enthusiastic about a fictitious business. At the time, I thought to myself, "They must be making a lot of money to get everyone so thrilled!"
In two days, three sessions were held during the conference. A Friday night session that went from 8 p.m. to midnight, a Saturday morning session that ran from 8 a.m. to Noon, and an evening session that ran the same as the Friday night session. The presenters were well-dressed and engaging, and they exuded the confidence and success of a successful heir. "WOW!" I said to myself. Those earning six figures or more are genuine professionals. "They're sales, marketing, and networking whiz kids!"
I was able to hear the leader of the URA speak at the conclusion on Friday night. He had a remarkable storey of endurance, knowledge, and so forth. His son-in-law, who was also a diamond, spoke before him and was bursting with energy and had the same level of intensity and emotion that I possessed. I was sold, even though I didn't properly register with the state until a year after my first purchase. I held a "grand opening," and Matthew assisted me in running it. It was a rather smooth transition (though only family and one friend came). And before you knew it, it was time for the Summer Conference once more! I even had a friend who was ready to join my squad, and he was planning on accompanying us on our trip. I've only been at this for a month and I already have a downline! I couldn't contain my excitement. He was pumped up for it. We were going to set the Amway globe ablaze with our zeal.
Then we boarded a plane for Washington, D.C
When we met for Summer Conference the previous year, we had a group of around a dozen people. This summer, there was a significant amount of turnover. More than half of the participants had withdrawn from the group. Before I joined, our upline platinum gushed about how "our team was growing" and how we were "on fire." That was the year before I joined. But here we were with a 50 percent turn over of the team.
Huh???
As an additional rental vehicle from the previous year, we had rented two vans. Rather than taking public transportation, we packed into two automobiles belonging to team members in order to "save money." We were encouraged to bring our own lunch meat, peanut butter and jelly, and other snacks rather than eating out. Our upline platinum even left us a really harsh voice mail the night before, advising us to be frugal with our money, to check into our hotel rooms, and other such things. That was the first of many unpleasant vibes that weekend that my friend and I received as a result of this.
We arrived in Washington, DC, after a ten-hour automobile adventure. My body was completely fatigued as a result of the lack of sleep I had. Afterwards, I discovered that SIX of us full-grown guys are going to be sharing a room (which is technically against the law, but hey, our businesses are going to expand, so who cares? As my companion and I enter the room, we are joined by another team member (who was more or less a stooge). I took a deep breath and laid down on the comfy bed. "Don't get comfortable, we've need to get changed and down to the theatre early to obtain decent seats," Stooge warns immediately.
You've got to be joking around with me.
After we unpacked and showered, we had about an hour before the rest of the group arrived. All of the guys eventually arrive, and we proceed to the conference centre of the hotel and stand in line for an hour or two in order to obtain "excellent seats." To say I'm irritated at this point would be an understatement. My friend (who was my number one priority because I brought him in) was also a little put off by all that was going on. Despite this, we were able to secure "excellent seats." And then the celebrations began in earnest. The atmosphere was vibrant at initially, the band played several catchy songs, and happy vibes were in the air. However, after a time, my positive vibe died as the event became increasingly stretched out.
It is not friendly when I am sleepy or a bit hungry. It is even less pleasant when I am both at the same time. One of the speakers had only a year before become a diamond himself. Although he was well-spoken and maintained my attention, he was interrupted by his wife, who entered the stage. Eventually, she makes her way up to the stage and attempts to tell a narrative about being the "sharpest knife in the drawer." She veered off into a long yarn about a raccoon who lived in her attic and exclusively ate glazed donuts, which she had come up with out of nowhere.
I sat there trying to figure out whether or not she was legitimately high.
The realisation hit me when she (finally) got back on track: SHE IS WINNING THIS!
This speech COULD NOT have been planned in advance of the event. Someone would never practise a speech that ran from point A to point M, then to point Z, and then back to point A. There was no groundbreaking advise, and there was no "secret" that would aid us in the development of our company. That said, there was a lot of excellent MOTIVATIONAL speaking, which I will give them credit for, but it only goes so far. This broad was simply blabbering on and on about things that no one cared about, and it was becoming old. Even the audience, who consisted primarily of members of their own team, was uninterested in her illogical ramblings.
The URA leader and his wife took the stage just before midnight, to a standing ovation from the audience. I was very disappointed because I had high hopes that he would bring some substantial information to the table. As his wife attempted to relate a storey about Navy Seals that was neither relevant nor fascinating, he chatted about jalapenos and something else entirely. We're spending our hard-earned money to attend these seminars in order to LEARN the most effective techniques to generate money in this industry, not to see garbage. I even asked one of our team members what the hell she was talking about when she started droning on. "Well...this material is more concerned with knowledge," he explained.
If I want to gain wisdom, I'll consult with my father. I've never met a wiser individual. Just show me how to make money like you did with Amway and I'll be happy! Okay? Okay!
They were able to complete their task. It was midnight, and I was really exhausted, over it, and unenthusiastic, and I was ready to crash. But don't get your hopes up just yet...
It's time for the NIGHT OWL to make an appearance!!!!!!!!!
What exactly is a "Night Owl," you might wonder. Some concerts have encores, and Amway Motivational Organizations have Night Owl's, which are late-night meetings. However, unlike an encore, these are a dud. After three hours of presenters bragging about their fortunes, raccoons, donuts, and jalapenos, we are treated to a BONUS lecture! And, of course, you have no choice but to stay because otherwise you will deprive yourself of even more wisdom...even if your brain has already shut down for the evening. But, like a good devoted soldier, I toughed it out and made it to bed at 2 a.m., hoping that by doing so, I would be able to generate cash for my company. But, as it turned out, I had to get up at 7 a.m. the next morning, which I had not anticipated. It's the equivalent of being served the greatest steak ever prepared and discovering that you only get one bite.
It took all of my strength to get out of bed and drag myself into the morning conference with my other tired coworkers. During this session, they conducted a little bit of teaching, but the most of their time was spent discussing goals rather than how to reach them. You'd think there'd be some sort of training programme and sales strategies for the goods. No, not in the traditional sense. To make matters worse, my exhaustion was beginning to catch up with me, so I went upstairs to the hotel lobby and sat in their coffee shop. I've heard horror stories about how uplines will beat you to a pulp if you attempt to quit. Fortunately, Matthew was a little more astute than that...either that, or he was too exhausted to notice given that he had only slept for an hour before racing down to the conference centre doors at 4 a.m. to ensure we had "excellent seats" for Saturday.
He was starting to make me feel uncomfortable.
When I returned, one of our team members had been having difficulty staying awake (plot twist). He inquired as to if he might have a drink of my coffee. It was my pleasure to give him a drink and tell him where he could acquire some. He stated that he did not have enough money to purchase his own cup. I handed him some cash and told him to go get some. I didn't think about it. I felt pity for him and wanted to do something for him. Coffee shops in hotel lobbies are a little on the pricey side, but still...five dollars? He felt awful about taking my money, but I wasn't going to let him feel bad about it either. I told him that we work as a team and that we all help each other. He expressed gratitude.

I told him that we work as a team and that we all help each other. He thanked me profusely and proceeded to the second floor. I was perplexed as I sat there. In a business where you may make big money, how is it that a guy who had only been in the business for a few months didn't even have enough money to buy a cup of coffee? Despite the fact that sleep had been at a premium that weekend, my brain was beginning to put things together as the weekend progressed.
Following the morning session, the URA teams broke off into smaller groups for a mini-team session. We were able to say hello to our upline emerald, who, in all honesty, is a genuinely nice person who deserves to be recognised. Then...lunch! Then, about a year ago, we had dinner at a wonderful restaurant right on the waterfront of Baltimore. Is it different this time? We pooled our resources and ordered pizza while sweltering in the 90-degree heat of the day. Once again, a team is expanding as a result of the best business opportunity the world has to offer....
What should we do in the event that we have some downtime? Sleep? Why not take advantage of the many attractions that DC has to offer? Have you ever visited the Smithsonian Institution? PLEEEEEASE! We've assembled a team in Washington, DC! The fever has risen to the surface! Let's make some phone calls and see if we can set up some appointments to show people the plan! Make the exact phone call that I received from Mike two years ago (who ironically had also quit the business by this time). Aside from that, historical American monuments are highly overrated. If you are successful in this business, you will be able to own one of them! (I know, it's a lame joke.)
When the night session rolled around, it felt like more of the same repeated lameness, which was disappointing. The inaugural summer conference had a significant influence, but this year's conference did not. It's like watching a movie for the first time and enjoying it, but the second time around, it doesn't have the same impact. The lecture came to a conclusion around midnight, but there was going to be...you guessed it...a night owl!!!
My companion and I were unconcerned. We'd eaten enough to eat. We returned to the room, grabbed some dinner, and settled in to watch Kevin Hart on Comedy Central's Secret Stash, much to the dismay of the rest of the team. To be completely honest, that was the most enjoyable time he and I had all weekend. We were in the capital of the United States. The Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and the White House were all within walking distance, but there was no time for leisurely activities or enjoyment. Instead of venturing out, let's stay at the hotel and concentrate on our work!
My friend, who had been DEAD-SET on joining the team until the day after we returned, chose not to do so the day after we returned. It didn't take much to turn him off from everything. He claimed that the presenters were materialistic and that the speech was deceptive in its content. Briefly stated, he recognised the seminar, the business, and the URA for what they truly were. I was upset, but I wasn't upset in the traditional sense. To be honest, I was simply a little perplexed. These conferences were supposed to be the catalyst that drew people into the industry in the first place. They will not be deterred! At the end of the day, his decision to leave the company pushed me to do some soul searching (as well as other instances that I'll discuss in this blog). I left the team two months later, and then I left Amway a year later, for personal reasons.
As a result of my investigation, I have come to the following conclusion: URA, WWDB, and BWW, as well as any other Amway Motivational Organization, are all one and the same:
A cult, to be precise.
You are not required to relocate to a remote region away from your family or to commit mass suicide, but groups such as the URA carry out these actions in a more covert manner. Groups like these are a death sentence for your SOUL. AMOs have caused relationships to fall apart, people to fall into insurmountable debt, and a significant hole to be left in people's dreams and sense of self-worth. People isolate themselves from family and friends, and you pour money after dollar into an account that never grows, but instead transfers to the accounts of your upline's emeralds and diamonds, which are the riches of the organisation.
According to the character played by Robert DeNiro in the film "Casino," owning and operating a casino was like "selling people's aspirations for cash." The term "AMO" is the most accurate description of what an AMO is. Everybody wants to be wealthy, and these vile individuals will help them achieve their goals for a fee of $100 per ticket, four times a year. Not to add the income from books, tapes, CDs, and other functions that these people perform...and, unfortunately, the majority of their income comes from these activities rather than from the sale of Amway items. Oh, URA really wants you to keep your dream alive, don't you think? As a result, people will go to any length to get wealthy...including spending exorbitant sums of money to listen to someone drone on about the same old thing and believe it can benefit them as well, since THEY claimed it would.
My insight allowed me to recognise the business for what it was without going too far, but there are still thousands of individuals who have been brainwashed into believing that this is the path to financial independence, and I am grateful for that. DON'T BE CAUGHT OUT!
Many of my upcoming blogs will be devoted to incidents that occurred during the conferences, as well as other incidents that occurred after I had joined the team. Even if I am able to prevent just one person from embarking on this harmful road, I will have done more for my fellow man than any of those cultists could accomplish in a lifetime.""

Launching of Products
Amway has recently introduced a new range of skincare products under the brand name Artistry Studio, which is one of the company's most exciting recent product introductions. This brand is aimed at a younger market and features bright and colorful packaging, in addition to one-of-a-kind ingredients like Japanese white turmeric and Indian neem tree oil. It was created with the intention of appealing to that generation. Amway is dedicated to innovation and staying current with the ever-shifting preferences of their customers, and a wonderful example of this devotion is the Artistry Studio collection.
Amway has also released a brand new product not too long ago called the Atmosphere Sky air treatment system. The removal of up to 99.99% of airborne particles, such as allergies, germs, and viruses, is accomplished by this system through the utilization of HEPA filtration and ultraviolet light technology. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the increased emphasis on maintaining high levels of indoor air quality, the launch of The Atmosphere Sky comes at an opportune time.
New collaborative endeavors
Amway has also been quite active in recent months in the formation of new alliances. One of the most important collaborations that they have is with the Global Shea Alliance, which is a non-profit organization that works to promote environmentally responsible shea cultivation and commerce in Africa. Amway is collaborating with the Global Shea Alliance to assist improve the standard of living of women who collect shea nuts in West Africa and to promote the source of shea butter in a manner that is both sustainable and responsible.
Amway recently made an announcement regarding the formation of a new alliance with the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3), in addition to their existing partnership with the Global Shea Alliance. The Green Chemistry and Chemicals Consortium (GC3) is a coalition of businesses and organizations that are dedicated to improving sustainable chemistry and green chemistry in the chemical sector. Amway will have access to the GC3's network of experts and resources as a result of this agreement, which will make it easier for the company to continue developing goods that are sustainable and kind to the environment.
Efforts Regarding Sustainability
In terms of environmental responsibility, it is important to note the substantial progress that Amway has made in recent years. In 2019, the corporation announced that by 2025, all of its manufacturing locations will have achieved their objective of sending zero trash to landfills. They have already made strides toward achieving this objective by cutting their waste by more than 40 percent in the year 2020.
Additionally, Amway has been recognized for their commitment to sustainability by a number of different organizations. They were awarded a gold grade from the sustainability ratings firm EcoVadis and were included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third year in a row in the year 2020.
Conclusion
Amway continues to be a prominent player in the direct selling sector thanks to its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and enhancing the lives of its consumers as well as the communities in which they do business. Amway is well-positioned to continue its growth and success in the years to come as a result of the launch of exciting new products such as the Artistry Studio skincare line and the Atmosphere Sky air treatment system, as well as partnerships with organizations such as the Global Shea Alliance and the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council.
