One of the most egregious blunders taught by upline was the "purchase from yourself" hoax. Make yourself your own best customer. The BS that was taught was to buy from yourself at full price and then utilise the proceeds to pay for your tools and functions in the future. Consider this: if you purchase from yourself, the majority of the profit goes to Amway and your upline, not you. Unless you reach the required PV level, you will receive nothing, and even if you pay yourself full retail, the money in your business account will be taken out of your own pocket.
In truth, you are simply a customer of Amway and maybe your upline, who has deceived you into believing you are a business owner. Ever heard of someone making millions with a cash back credit card? It's a technique that's similar to the one that your upline employs, in that it allows you to buy what you need and then receive a reimbursement from Amway. Despite the fact that it appears absurd, this is what upline is schlepping on its IBOS, and surprisingly, many new IBOS fall for it.
Without selling a significant number of things to people who are not IBOS, all you are accomplishing is making money from your down line, if you even make a profit after paying for tools and functions. Consider the implications of this topic carefully. If only you had the means to purchase your way into success. You could just purchase 15,000 PV on your own and instantaneously transform into a ruby. That much PV, on the other hand, would cost about $50,000 dollars, and your bonus money would not even come close to covering half of the cost of the PV you bought.
So, if your upline recommends this approach, you should either ask tough questions and demand answers, or you should flee as quickly as you can from them. Make the calculations. I strongly advise IBOS and prospects to heed this warning since uplines are also suffering in this difficult economic climate, but they have you as a downline to take advantage of for revenue. Be on the lookout!
