When Will Amway IBOs Be "Walking The Beaches Of The World"?

As an Amway Independent Business Owner, one of the war cries I heard was that one day, we will all be financially independent and roaming the beaches of the world. Being independent, not needing to own an alarm clock, and not having to report to a supervisor are all advantages of being self-employed. I mean, it sounded like a pretty good deal to me. All you had to do was work the system for two to five years and adhere to the system's proven formula for success. At the time, I honestly believed that I was going to go through with my plans. However, as time went on, I began to notice things said and taught by the upline leaders that did not make any sense to me at the time.

If we are continually advised to get out of debt and live within our means, why is it OK to go deeper into debt in order to attend a party or to purchase additional standing orders? If debt is a bad thing, then debt is a bad thing. There wasn't much discussion about how to use your business to produce earnings in order to pay down debt. It's just a matter of recruiting and sponsorship. I believe this is due to the fact that it is just not practicable to create enough sales to produce any significant profits from selling generic Barnd products at top-tier premium prices.

Of course, now I understand how my upline's apparent greed was the driving force for this type of advice. Alternatively, we were taught that God was our first and foremost priority, followed by our spouse, family, career, and finally the Amway company. However, whenever there was a conflict with an Amway function or a meeting, the Amway function or meeting was ALWAYS given first attention. "Never skip a meeting, period," was the piece of advice we received from our superiors. Attend "all" of the events. The term "all" refers to the entire collection. So much for putting God, family, and our work first and putting Amway second. There was only talk, and no action was taken.

This drives me to question prospects and independent business owners. What kind of progress do you seem to be making? When are you planning on taking a walk on the beaches of the world? Why don't any of your upline leaders have their Amway businesses completely wound down, amassing mounds of wealth and relaxing on the beaches of every continent? If residual income is a legitimate benefit of the business, why isn't Amway advertising it as a benefit of the business? You might be able to think of one or two persons who have created an Amway business and have really walked away from their business and collected an income. Surely, a firm with this perk that has been in operation for more than 50 years must have a large number of customers who appreciate this fantastic benefit? The question is, why can't anyone point to a single diamond who has created a business, walked away, and taken advantage of the benefit that is touted as a selling point for Amway?

Many people, particularly independent business owners (IBOs), are unaware that you can never be inactive in Amway. As far as I'm aware, Amway will only pay incentives on active businesses, which means that if you ever decide to leave, someone else will be responsible for running your business. A specific amount of volume will also be required in order to qualify for some of these bonuses, and you will have to hope that none of your downline members ever quits or stops ordering things, else your bonuses will dwindle down to little or nothing very quickly. The more senior diamonds should be aware that stopping will not only cause their Amway firm to fail, but they will also forfeit their tool money because they are not participating. As a result, diamonds continue to work until they become physically incapable or until they die. That is not the definition of freedom.
