Fake It But Never Make It?

My upline used to advise the audience to "fake it until you make it" until they got what they wanted. It is giving the impression of success to prospects until you actually achieve success. To put it another way, you should put up a false show in the hopes of attracting potential downline members who will then imitate your efforts for you. However, while on the surface this may appear to be a smart idea, the reality is that you are fooling people with whom you intend to conduct business.

Although it is illegal to recruit people into a business under false pretences, Amway IBOS get away with it because they frequently recruit friends and family members who are unlikely to complain or register any complaints against them. The goal is to appear successful even if you aren't actually successful. Unfortunately for IBOS, maintaining the illusion of success can be costly, as you may be wearing a fine suit and a nice watch while you are in debt and living paycheck to paycheck, for example.

As a result, this contributes to Amway's poor reputation, as people gradually discover that they may have been tricked or misled about the potential when they join. With the bitter taste many people have from wasting their time and money on tools and functions, it's easy to see how people can leave Amway feeling like they've been ripped off or duped by someone they may have previously believed they could trust.

Consider the fact that there is no actual natural development towards any true success, and all you have is an Amway trail littered with the dead carcasses of people who may have attempted to succeed but failed and lost money in the process; otherwise known as the "Amway effect." Despite this, failure does not always lie on the shoulders of the IBOS, because the Amway multi-tiered business system is built to have a few "pins," while the great majority struggle with mediocrity and financial losses. To the trained observer, the outcome is easily anticipated and expected to take place.

Until then, Amway independent business owners (IBOs) and uplines will continue to prey on the hopes and dreams of those who are hopeful. People who want to hope and believe that Amway is a shortcut to wealth and an early retirement are welcome to apply. Unfortunately, Amway appears to be the polar opposite.
