According to one of the things we used to hear at Amway meetings, one of the main reasons people aren't in Amway is because they have a "employment attitude," or a "job mentality," or some other word along those lines. Just Over Broke is usually used as a punctuation mark to indicate that this is all they will ever be.
I can confidently predict that most people will be just over broke for as long as they continue to work with Amway!
The IBOs are being brainwashed again again into believing that they are superior to everyone else because they are with Amway and have their own business, rather than being confined to the status of a company employee.
So, when did we first hear the sneer associated with the "employee mentality"? When we've informed our upline of possible prospects who were not interested in attending a meeting, this is usually the case. In his normal manner, the Platinum would put them down, dismissing them with a load of nonsense about how they'd always have an employee mentality.
The only other time we heard about it was when an IBO decided to leave. The Platinum would yell about how the escapee's "dream wasn't large enough," how they had "employee mindset," how they were a "broke loser," and so on.
Do any of these cretins ever take a step back and consider what exactly it is about having an employee attitude that is so detrimental?
Most likely not, because that would imply that they had to develop a brain and cease being brainwashed!
Not everyone possesses the necessary personality traits, intellect, passion, knowledge, and learning ability, among other qualities, to successfully launch a firm.
Unfortunately, there are many people who have physical and mental limitations and will never be able to realise their ambition of owning their own business. Do IBOs make fun of those who have lost limbs or who have suffered brain damage? There is no compassion from the upline bastards for those who will never become Amway Independent Business Owners!
The most important thing in every business is to make sales. If you own a business, you are in the business of selling yourself, whether it is your product or your service. Nothing happens in your business until you have a customer and make a sale. Until then, nothing happens. There are many people who are brilliant at what they do and believe they can use that expertise to start their own firm. However, if they aren't good at selling, becoming an entrepreneur is a horrible choice. Depending on the nature of the firm, the owner may employ salesmen. It's the same as anything else when it comes to being a small business owner. You employ others to perform tasks that you are not skilled at, do not have time for, or are not certified to perform. It is one thing to hire salesmen. It is quite another to train them. If you are not already a skilled salesperson, teaching them how to market your service or product can be terrible, and depending on the sort of business, clients may only want to deal with the owner.
Some people, I believe, can improve their sales skills via practise and education. There are classes and books available. Ultimately, no matter how hard they try, not everyone is cut out to be a salesperson.
That is the way things work at Amway. Amway Independent Business Owner is a slang term for a commission salesperson who works for Amway. The only way for an IBO to make money is to identify clients who will purchase overpriced things and then persuade others to do the same thing. Sales generate commissions and bonuses, which are received on top of the sales.
People who are not interested in Amway or who have abandoned Amway because they have a "employee attitude" should be sneered at by their upline, but the truth is that the people who left are lousy at being salespeople.
It is not a source of embarrassment to have an employee attitude and work for someone else. No amount of willpower will enable you to become a successful seller.
I'm always curious as to how our Platinum sack of shit regarded Ambot after he left the team. “That Ambot has an employee mentality!” says the author. Yes, that's correct. Someone who has been in business for themselves for years and hasn't worked for another company in a long time is likely to have an employee mentality. Let's see what happens. Isn't that Platinum bastard employed on a full-time basis somewhere? Doesn't he have a superior? That would be a resounding yes, sir!
Who exactly embodies the employee attitude in this organisation? Ambot or the sack of shit Platinum, which do you prefer?
And why does it make a difference?
