Blatant Upline Lies?

You can see through what appears to be clear lies to me when you break down some of the instructions by the upline diamonds. I won't go into all of them, but I will focus on a few things I witnessed as an IBO and have reason to believe haven't changed much over the years. For the upline, the story rarely changes. Their primary goal is to extract as much money as possible from their downline while claiming to care about you. Try skipping a few meetings and functions to see how much affection you'll receive.

Upline claims that we only make cents after we make dollars, which is a lie. When an IBO receives a bonus for generating 100 PV in a single day, they are eligible for a $10 incentive. What they don't realize is that their efforts resulted in a bonus of $90 to $100, but the IBO who did the work receives only a piece of the bonus, while layers of upline receive the rest. Additionally, IBOS who attend functions assist the diamond in earning serious money, as tools and functions are a big source of revenue for diamonds. They benefit handsomely from your personal use and any sales you make, as well as from your attendance and involvement in their system.

Second lie: your upline claims to be looking out for your best interests. So, do these "mentors" devote individual time to assessing and assisting IBOS, or is the assistance provided in the form of a purchased CD or attendance at a function? Or perhaps a meeting that the IBO paid for? How can they have your best interests at heart if you have to pay for every piece of advise you receive, regardless of whether it is useful or not? Diamonds appear to have their own best interests in mind.

Lie #3: It's a level playing field; everyone starts from square one. No, no, and no. IBOs in the rank and file do not share in tool earnings. As a result, upline has a significant financial advantage. In addition, without special approval from Amway, IBOs are unable to develop, sell products to retail outlets, or advertise. Amway sets several restrictions on IBOS' business. That leaves the majority of people with personal use and the sale of a few items to sympathetic friends and relatives. How many legitimate firms can benefit in this way?

These are just a few of the most typical deceptions I've come across. Perhaps a part 2 or 3 for a future post is in order. If your upline truly cared about your career and well-being, why would they charge you for a Zoom meeting when they could benefit from the advice you provide? Zoom is free, and since they care about your success, why not give IBOS a free meeting? You'll probably understand why after reading this piece.

The biggest falsehood in Amway is that you can survive off of robbing your down-line IBOs while pretending to be a "good Christian" and behave in a "biblical" manner.

Running a crooked pyramid scheme that impoverishes most rank-and-file IBOs while also pretending to be a psalm-singing hypocrite in "The Amway Christian Fellowship" is Amway's ultimate deception.


Divorce is "unbiblical," according to the Bible. Except when you're insisting that a lowly IBO get rid of his recalcitrant spouse, or when you're dealing with fat-assed Diamonds who are bored of their spouses.


Greed is "unbiblical," according to the Bible. Except when you're squeezing every last bit from a poor IBO for CommuniKate and worthless tools.

Lying is considered "unbiblical." Except when you're bragging about residual income and how no one in your upline makes money from function fees.

I'm surprised Amway hasn't exploded because it's so corrupt and bloated with falsehoods and deception.

You clearly have no understanding of how network marketing works. Perhaps your upline failed to properly advise you on the necessity of signing people up and mentoring them to perform the same thing you were expected to do? In any case, your paper is fascinating, but it reveals your lack of knowledge (just not understanding) about network marketing. From their inception to 1998, Amway was responsible for creating more millionaires in America than all other businesses combined, and after a lawsuit with Canada over international tax issues, it was determined that Amway's business plan was so exceptional that, when questions about the veracity of their business plans arose, the courts ruled against ALL OTHER Network marketing opportunities in America.

Things may have altered since then (around 1993-1998), but Amway remains one of the most solid, legitimate business possibilities in our country's history, regardless of one's opinion of the company and its distributors.

We have a complete understanding of how network marketing works. If you've been reading this page for any length of time, you're well aware that we are fully aware of the deception of network marketing, notably in the creaking incarnation known as "Amway."

As a side note, if Amway's business "Plan" is so "phenomenal," why are competing MLMs springing up all over the place with superior pay plans? And why has Amway recorded a three-year (and soon four-year) revenue loss in a row?

Furthermore, your remarks expose the underlying secret of Amway and all MLMs: the concept of "down-line recruitment." "It's critical to sign others up and mentor them to do exactly what you were supposed to be doing," you say. It's fascinating that you make no mention of selling Amway products to non-Amway clients at retail. Everything at Amway is laser-focused on signing up new Independent Business Owners (IBOs) and draining them of money every month for fees, tools, and other expenses.

Finally, if you're such a fan of Amway, how about telling us how much money you've made (or lost) as a result of the scheme? Also, please explain why you're reading an anti-Amway page. What has brought you to this location?
