Don't say negative!

I can't tell you how many times I've heard the Ambot repeat his catchphrase, "Don't say anything negative!" This generally happened when I made a remark about how costly an Amway product was or how terrible it tasted, for example.

They would preach about not allowing negative influences into your life, generally through the mouth of the pompous sack of dung Platinum, but occasionally through the mouth of the Emerald.

Wow, what an idyllic existence that would be for people! I think I can understand why the cult leaders don't want their downline to be impacted by outside forces that can reason with them, tell them the truth, and demonstrate to the Independent Business Owners that they are wasting their time and money by attempting to develop an Amway company.

They'd tell you not to read newspapers, not to watch television, and not to listen to the radio. Most importantly, they would advise you not to listen to anyone who are not affiliated with Amway.

Despite this, the cult leaders all appeared to be aware of what was going on in the world. Other than via watching television or reading the newspaper, how can they accomplish this?

And these cretins were the most negative persons in the room, funnily enough, despite all their sermons about not allowing bad influences into one's life to begin with. It seems like they were always talking about Starbucks stores closing or other businesses closing their doors throughout every Amway conference. Their bleak predictions about the recession and people losing their jobs would be met with a deluge of gloom and despair. The people in my upline were the most negative people I had ever met!

If you decide to leave Amway, you'll be shedding a significant amount of negative energy.

The power of positivity: adopting a "don't say negative" mindset is the subject of the book bearing that title.
