The process of sponsoring someone to become an Amway IBO - Independent Business Owner - is practically difficult. First and foremost, practically everyone in North America over the age of 30 has heard of Amway, either via personal experience as an IBO or from being pestered to become an IBO, or through knowing others who are or were IBOs. Only a small number of people are interested. Quality-wise, Amway goods are comparable to products that can be obtained for a fraction of the price at local supermarket or medicine stores. Amway is a company that almost no one knows of who has truly made money with it.
Despite the fact that many independent business owners (IBOs) will lie and claim that business is booming, this is not the case. It's just another one of the Amway lies that they've been taught to tell by their upline.
According to Upline, it's straightforward. You purchase and use Amway items, and you recruit others to follow in your footsteps and do the same thing. Your earnings could range from hundreds to thousands of dollars per month, depending on how many people you can locate.
The reality is that most IBOs are unable to find anyone, so they attempt to purchase Amway items only for their personal use in order to increase their PV (points volume that each Amway product is awarded) as high as they possibly can in order to obtain a bonus check from the company. An example of the estimated value is that for every $300 in Amway products purchased, the IBO will receive a $10 bonus check from the company. If you have people in your downline who are actively purchasing Amway items, you have a better chance of earning a larger bonus check in the future.
IBOs lose money almost immediately. They most likely spent $300 on things that they would not have purchased if they had gone to a local store to shop, such as meal bars and energy drinks, if they had done so. With the tools they have to purchase - books, CDs, membership into their cult-like line of sponsorship, message system, web page, function and seminars - which can cost hundreds of dollars each month, most IBOs are operating at a significant loss on a month-to-month basis. The majority of people do not remain IBOs for an extended period of time. When their money runs out, so does their ability to continue.
Others, regrettably, are compelled by their upline to charge their credit cards, take out home equity loans, sell their automobiles, and do whatever else is necessary in order to buy, buy, buy at whatever cost to themselves.
According to Amway's own literature, less than one percent of independent business owners (IBOs) truly make money. So what type of success rate do you have there? It's a little shady.
It is practically impossible for the average independent business owner to sponsor any downline. If they do, it will be extremely difficult to keep them motivated to continue purchasing Amway products after months of losses. The majority of IBOs leave after a year.
