We had a lot of IBOs in our LOS who were driving rusted-out Cadillac, Lincoln, and BMW cars from the 1970s and 1980s just for the bragging rights of having owned that particular kind of automobile. Yes, I would really want to drive an unsightly old car that is prone to breakdowns.

Furthermore, he intended to purchase the vehicle through the services of a car hunter (?) - I'm not sure what the name is for a person to whom you provide your criteria and who then searches for the best prices on your behalf. Anyway, that was the extent of the bastard's ranting, and he did not go out and get a new - or at least new to him - automobile. It's likely that they had to utilise the money to pay off debt.
